Starting on April 28th, customers in India can pre-order the OnePlus Pad, which is the company’s first-ever tablet. The tablet’s price has been revealed by the company weeks after its official launch. The cost of the OnePlus Pad ranges from Rs 37,999 for the basic model to Rs 39,999 for the top model that comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The tablet is only available in one color option, which is Halo Green.
Additionally, the prices of the accessories for the tablet have also been announced. The White stylus (Stylo) costs Rs 4,999, and the OnePlus Magnetic Keyboard is available for Rs 7,999. Customers who only need a case can purchase the OnePlus Folio Case for Rs 1,499, without the keyboard.
OnePlus hopes to compete with other Android tablet producers, such as Xiaomi and Samsung, with its new tablets. The tablet’s pricing will also compete with some of the Apple iPads. However, despite having a flagship SoC from MediaTek, the OnePlus Pad does not offer 5G connectivity.
The OnePlus Pad comes with an 11.6-inch LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, Full-HD+ resolution, and a typical brightness of 500 nits. The tablet is powered by a 9510mAh battery and MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9000 SoC, which is compatible with 65W SuperVOOC charging technology. The SoC comes with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage technologies to improve app loading and switching. The tablet is thin at 6.5mm and weighs only 552 grammes.
The back panel of the OnePlus Pad has a 13-megapixel camera with EIS capability that can record 30fps 4K video. The front-facing camera is 8-megapixels and can capture Full HD video at 30 frames per second.
The OnePlus Pad is only available in the Wi-Fi version for now, as it does not have the LTE variant. This means that users cannot access the internet using their SIM card while travelling. Additionally, the tablet does not have a 3.5mm audio port, as OnePlus has decided to focus on promoting its wireless earphones.
