Elon Musk’s SpaceX successfully launched an unmanned test flight of its next-generation Starship cruiser on Thursday from the company’s new Super Heavy rocket. But minutes after liftoff from SpaceX’s Starbase spaceport in Texas, the vehicle exploded when the upper-stage Starship failed to separate from the lower Super Heavy. According to Reuters, the explosion occurred less than four minutes into the flight.
Musk, the founder and CEO of SpaceX, said on Twitter that the next Starship test launch will take place “in a few months.”
